Western Health is poised to become one of Victoria’s largest healthcare services, with a population catchment of over 1 million people. With such a large culturally diverse and predominantly research naïve population this presents great opportunities for recruitment into clinical trials. Western Health has been an exemplar recruiting entity across a number of commercially sponsored trials because of its dedicated Principal Investigators, access to a large patient population and the excellent relationships we have established with our community primary care providers.
Western Health provides a number of specialist services for neonates, children, adolescent and adult patients across its multiple clinical and surgical services. As a health service that is expanding at a very fast rate we are determined to ensure that the populations we serve and which have the largest burden of chronic disease in the nation, are afforded opportunities to access the latest treatments clinical trials provide.
As we expand our services with the development of the New Footscray and Melton Hospitals, we are also keen to further expand our clinical trial activity.
